Ignite Phoenix Video Release! Beekeeping for a Day

Last week, I had the thrill of a lifetime as I stood on a stage in a sold out theater and talked about how our curiosity can lead us to the most incredible places. Earlier this year, we had a prime example of this as one question led us from our yard, through our city and into the apiary of a beekeeper, where we became beekeepers for a day!

Ignite Phoenix was a sold out show, featuring 18 speakers who had 5 minutes to share their passions with the world. We stepped on a stage in front of nearly 1,000 people a as presenters talked about everything from race cars to a NASA launch, to life modeling and couch surfing. I got to share my story of curiosity, community, and beekeeping, as pictures of Kat were plastered on the big screen for the world to see!

Let's Play Pinball!

What can you do with a cardboard box, wooden skewers, marbles, and hot glue? You can make a pinball machine!

Over the summer, our family took a trip to Las Vegas. While we were there, Kat and I went to check out the Pinball Hall of Fame! We had $18 in quarters and a lot of arcade ambition, we were ready to go play some pinball!

While we were listening to all of the bells and whistles and watching the cool mechanics of the games, Kat and I thought about how great it would be if we had our very own pinball machine at home. We had become very fond of Caine and his arcade, why not try to make our own cardboard pinball machine?
